Eco Warriors
Our Site Officer, Mr Whitehouse, had a brilliant idea to repurpose some wooden boxes and old tyres. He very cleverly put together these play vehicles during the school holidays. Mr Whitehouse said ”I managed to acquire some old steering wheels from a local scrapyard and made some headlights out of steel bowls. The children absolutely love them and I often hear them excited about who is going to be the driver and discussing ideas on where they can visit, which makes me smile!” I’m sure you’ll agree – they are fantastic!
These photos were taken for the Local Mag, who covered the story in their publication.
Community Recycle Scheme
This new scheme donates a collection of second-hand, overstocked and end-of-line equipment to schools in the UK. A wide range of items has already been given away, including shade sails, post pad protectors and colourful fence pales. The full range of items can be viewed online, where requests can also be submitted. Several companies are involved with this initiative, including A&S Landscape a supplier of outdoor gym equipment for schools.
